Greeting one and all. I a very busy year was had by the Western States Hackney Association. We had some bumps in getting started by have got many thing accomplished in the doing. We have a fine group of Hackney owners, breeders and lovers that have achieved the passing of the first Hackney Horse AHHS rules in over 100 years. We have held and showed in the first ever USEF AHHS approved Hackney Horse Pleasure Division Classes. It was very well received by one and all and we all will do better in 2008 in getting more hackneys before the masses. An astounding new crop is the wings. The multi-breed "C-Fair Charity Show" was a wonderful show to launch a new division for the Hackney Horse.                            Now for the results -

Our Hackney owners are turning out and turning heads in California. Celine Rickards is burning up the competition. Jenni Haas is showing Ricky in Arena Driving Trials an Ann’s Rodger and Leslie are headed for the Singles with any luck. Alice and Lucky were sidelined with injuries but Alice kept busy writing a very important rebuttal to a flaming article in Dressage Today that defamed the Hackney Horse. Elsa was also out this year as Windy was on the mend. Our California friends also battled a terrible fire this fall but all are safe and sound.    All in all, a very good year.
