Ken Ball Director of USEF horse Registration and Services 859-225-6987 said only the AHHS number is needed to compete in any AHHS breed class. You do not need a USEF Horse ID number to enter any USEF breed class. But to qualify for year-end awards you must have a horse ID records number. This can be annual or lifetime. The form is called the USEF Horse Application. Choose either Life or Annual Horse Recording. The cost is $200 lifetime or $75 for the annual. You can click below and print out the form or go online.

There is a discount on the fees for foals first year as they are only $35; yearling is $85 and two year olds are $160. So it is a big bonus to have all foals recorded. To get this discount you must file by snail mail or fax.
